Philippines got 1st win in Fiba World after 40 years



The Philippine national men’s basketball team’s road to a victory in the FIBA Basketball World Cup wasn’t easy, with late collapses and heartbreaking losses preventing Gilas Pilipinas to get that elusive win.

But the Filipinos finally got over the hump Thursday night, escaping Senegal, 81-79, in overtime. After the game, members of Gilas Pilipinas couldn’t help but celebrate on the court for the victory, the country’s first after 40 years
